EAST VIEW HIGH SCHOOL RECEIVES $5,000 GRANT
Lowe’s Donates Money For Patriot Band Shed and Shuttle Project
East View High School has received a $5,000 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant for Patriot Band Shed and Shuttle Project.
We are thrilled to announce that Lowe’s has awarded the East View High School funding for the Shed and Shuttle Project. Our grant application was based on the goal of adding needed storage and improving the mobility of the band and color guard paraphernalia for all activities in support of EVHS, GISD, and the Georgetown community. We look forward to sharing the news of the Shed and Shuttle Project with the Georgetown community.
Funding for the Shed and Shuttle Project will allow the Patriot Band to purchase and store band field equipment in a secure storage shed and provide three large lumber carts to improve the transport of all band and color guard props and paraphernalia to games, contests, and community performances. Having the shed and carts will help the
Patriot Band be more efficient in loading and safely moving band equipment on and off the band trailer and the football field. Since receiving the funds, we have purchased and built the storage shed and will soon have it painted. The lumber carts are currently on order and we expect that this project will be completed in December 2014.
“Our school and community will greatly benefit from this grant. We wish to thank our friends at Lowe’s for generously supporting this important project,” said Jane Trainor, Band Booster President.
All K-12 public schools in the United States are eligible for the Toolbox for Education program. More information is available at www.ToolboxforEducation.com.
